The Cleveland Cavaliers played without the man who hustles more than anyone else in the N.B.A.. Anderson Varejao sat out of the game due to a bruised right knee he suffered in the first quarter of the Clippers game. The Cavaliers lost to the Golden State Warriors and were forced to play without two of their big men. Cavs rookie Tyler Zeller returned to Cleveland to receive treatment to his broken cheekbone he suffered in the Clippers game when he took an elbow to the face from the Clippers DeAndre Jordan.
The Cleveland Cavaliers needed to get some more production from rookie Dion Waiters in the game against Golden State, Waiters scored 12 and the Cavs fell short. Cavaliers second year player Kyrie Irving did what he could last night, scoring 28 points he led all the Cavs players. Tristan Thompson led the Cavaliers off the boards with 10 rebounds, it just wasn’t the same kind of Cavaliers rebounding effort without the Wild-man Anderson Varejao in the game. Lets hope Varejao’s right knee heal quickly and the big man can return to help his Cleveland Cavaliers to get back to winning basketball games.
Coach Byron Scott already facing injuries to his Cavaliers and the season isn’t 2 weeks old yet. The Cleveland Cavaliers are one of those teams that suffers injuries to some key guys year after year. The Cavaliers are capable this season of contending with the best of them if the Cavalier players can stay healthy. We need Varejao in these games. There is other player on the team that can give you what Varejao brings to the game. It is a shame the guy gets injured so much.
