The Cleveland Browns have a couple of free agents to deal with this off-season. Both Alex Mack and TJ Ward are set to test the free agent market. When Joe Banner was the Browns CEO there was a lot of concern about the team spending the kind of money it may take to keep Alex Mack the Browns center.
Mack has played with the team since being drafted in the 1st round of the 2009 draft with the 21st pick over all. Mack hasn’t missed a game with the Cleveland Browns since he was named the teams starting center.
Mack is a intelligent football player. He is the only guy on the Browns offense that touches the football as often as the quarterback. He has been named to the pro-bowl twice and he is an iron man.
Mack is only 28-years-old and the Browns have other needs on the offensive line to be filled this off-season. There is no sense in trying to break in a new center too.
Then there is TJ Ward. Ward made an impact in the Cleveland Browns defensive secondary last season. He too went to the pro-bowl and he had a pro-bowl season which is something that is questionable about some of the other Browns selected to the pro-bowl.
There was a time when Ward’s teammate Joe Haden said;he would sacrifice some of his salary to keep TJ Ward on the team. Now that the Browns are talking about a long-term deal to keep Haden here, is he still adamant about the team resigning TJ Ward.
Now that the Browns have made the changes to the front office do you think Mack and Ward have a better chance of being resigned without Joe Banner being in Cleveland? Cast your vote in our poll now….
