Dan Gilbert, the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers, had dinner last night with a head coach that he is familiar with. Mike Brown, joined Gilbert for a night on the town. People close to the situation say, Browns and his family are house hunting in the Cleveland area.
Brown could be named the next coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers. There is speculation that the Cavs have Brown high on their radar for the position that was made available with the dismissal of Byron Scott the day after the season ended.
Brown, was the Cavaliers head coach during some of the LeBron James days. Reports surfaced back then that said, he and James didn't see things eye to eye. If the Cavaliers re-hire Brown, questions are already surfacing about whether James would return to the team in 2014.
The Cavaliers can't be concerned about LeBron James. He wasn't concerned with the Cavaliers when he decided to take his talents to south beach a couple of years ago. Right now, there is only speculation about James making a return to Cleveland. He is in the play-offs and the last thing on his mind is Cleveland.
Brown had a good run as the team's head coach. He was named as the NBA coach of the year in 2009 and coached the All-Star team. Brown was fired by the Lakers early in the 2012-2013 season.
Mike Brown had a record of 272-138 when he was the coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
