The Cincinnati Bengals rookie quarterback suffered flu like symptoms extreme enough to keep him out of practice Wednesday and force Dalton to make a trip to the Hospital. Today as the Bengals play in their first play-off game in years, Dalton will face another rookie quarterback TJ Yates making this the first time two rookie quarterbacks faced each other in a play-off game.
Houston head coach Gary Kubiak has had Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis’s number so far in the match ups between the two teams. Kubiak is 3-0 against the Bengals. Today we will see if Dalton can continue the magic he brought to the Bengals this season. The Bengals were picked by many to have one of their worse seasons coming into the year. People didn’t figure on the magic Dalton has found in the weapons the Bengals came into the season with. Guys like W.R. AJ Green have certainly contributed to the Bengals story book season.
Today when Dalton and the Bengals play the Texans, it is sure to be a battle. The last time the two teams met in the regular season the Texans won by only one point. Many are giving the Bengals the edge in today’s match probably do to the fact Kubiak’s Texans come into today’s playoff game with 19 guys on the injury list and a large number of those 19 listed as probable.
Cincinnati’s Andy Dalton is going to have to put his illness behind him today and play one of his best games if the Bengals are going to continue to extend their season. I am giving the edge in today’s game to the Houston Texans. It may be close but I think the Texans will edge out the Bengals today.
