. This will be his second ever opening day start, his first one he did rather well allowing only 1 run in 8 innings of pitching. However this was the game when Chris Perez blew the save and it led to the longest game in Home Opener history. Masterson has seemed to be the ace for the Cleveland Indians since being signed, he is a big guy with better than average stuff. If he has a good season opener maybe the confidence will stay with him all season long. Ubaldo Jimenez was the other pitcher considered in Opening Day talks, however he has not been having a pre-season like that of Masterson. Ubaldo has been a pretty big bust since being signed, he has 1 big year with the Colorado Rockies but other than that his numbers have been quite sub-par

Masterson seems to be the right choice as the starter. The Cleveland Indians had a great off-season signing names like MIchael Bourn, and Nick Swisher. They did not sign a big time starting pitcher even though many fans and experts believed that was something we needed because our bullpen is top 10 in the MLB. With all of this being said the Cleveland Indians are looking forward to what could be a good season with the big off-season. Masterson will be on the rubber for Opening Day and lets just hope he gets back to his old ways as a true ace.

of the 3 starters, Masterson is our best choise, however if Scott Kazmir continues his impressive spring and makes the rotation, he would be a good choice as well.
