Urban Meyer led his Oho State Buckeyes to their 20th win in a row. They beat the Penn State Nittany Lions 63-14. There were a lot of doubter going into this game. Many didn't think this Buckeyes team was for real and the Buckeyes defense was a giant question mark that would keep OSU out of serious contention.
I don't see that problem now. Meyer said at the half, he would bring his team out in the second half and continue to play hard, because Penn State was a good football team. They certainly weren't good enough to contend against the Ohio State Buckeyes were they?
Once again it was the Braxton Miller and Carlos Hyde show. Both men had an outstanding performance. Miller looks better each week. He is not only a serious threat to run, he has developed into a good pocket passer as well.
The Buckeyes are 4 games away from their second undefeated season in a row. This team hasn't lost a game under Meyer and they may never the way he is coaching them. Up next it's Purdue. Bring them on baby, OSU is looking unstoppable.
Miller passed for 252 yards and 3 touchdowns completing 18 of the 24 passes he threw. He also rushed for 68 yards and 2 touchdowns on 11 carries. Miller is one of the best quarterbacks in the NCAA and should be in serious contention for the heisman trophy this year.
Then there was the Carlos Hyde show taking place inside the game. He is one big strong, fast running back. He will certainly demand a hefty salary once he is drafted in the NFL. This guy rushed for a 9.2 yard per carry average against Penn State.
Hyde carried the ball 16 times for 142 yards and 2 touchdowns. He is one great running back and he looks to be having fun in Urban Meyer's Buckeyes offense.
The Buckeyes defense played better in this game too. They held the Nittany Lions to just 14 points and were able to come up with 2 interceptions.
The Buckeyes certainly have to be talked about in the same sentences as an Alabama. These are the two powerhouse team's in College football. Urban Meyer is right up there with the Nick Saban's.
The Buckeyes are for real folks and if there was any doubt, you can erase it now.
