Trevor Bauer looks like he is coming around. He started against the Colorado Rockies, and he pitched well. He threw for 6 innings only allowing, 4 hits and 2 earned runs. Bauer struck out 8 and walked 1 batter. The kid is coming around.
This was one of his better outings in the major leagues. Working with Indians pitching coach Mickey Callaway, has to be a help to Bauer. Seeing him pitch like this has to be a help to Indians skipper, Terry Francona.
The Cleveland Indians really needed another guy in the rotation that could give them some innings on the mound, I am hoping Bauer is going to finally be that guy. Now the Tribe needs to get their bull-pen to perform well.
Cody Allen came in and got the save, but it was rough going for Scott Atchison who came in and couldn’t do anything right. In the third of an inning he worked, he gave up 3 hits and 3 runs. Not exactly what you want to see out of one of your relievers.
Josh Outman came in and faced a batter and gave up a run, he was of little help to the cause. The Rockies had a 4 run 7th inning and they were able to tie the game up with the Indians.
The Indians would be able to score the winning run in the 8th inning when, Mike Aviles singled to right field and Kipnis scored. The Indians took their second game in a row away from the Rockies 7-6. Too bad Bauer wasn’t able to get the win.
