The Cleveland Indians will be sending their ace Justin Masterson in search of a series win today against the Baltimore Orioles. The Tribe won game three 11-5 to take a 2-1 lead in the series. The Indians offense that looked to be fizzle-ING out in the New York series was able to rekindle the fire it takes to win Major League Baseball Games in Baltimore. Today the Indians offense has to help Masterson with some run support, the rumor is Masterson will face former Cleveland Indians great Jim Thome as the Orioles new D.H. the Orioles were able to get Thome via trade with the Phillies. If the Indians can repeat the offensive performance they had yesterday, Thome or Thome it shouldn’t matter.
Masterson has been pitching very good, in his last few starts Justin Masterson has gone 2 out of three. Masterson has had a rough season this year, he is coming around and if he can continue to throw like he has over the past month, the Indians will have a chance to win.
The Indians saw some great at bats in yesterday’s game too. Lou Marson went 4 for five and was only a home run short of hitting for the cycle. Shin-Soo Choo’s bat has continued to improve and he went 4 for five. Jose Lopez had a great game and he went 5 for 5. If the Indians offense can show up again today, the Cleveland Indians will able to secure the series win.
