The Cleveland Indians won their 5th game in a row last night. They beat the Minnesota Twins in the 10th inning. Drew Stubbs hit a double that drove in Mike Aviles to give the Tribe a 7-6 win over the Twins.
The Tribe kept their winning streak alive, this is the first time the team won 5 in a row in a couple of seasons. With the win the Indians got back to .500 at 13-13 and they moved into 3rd place in the A.L. Central.
The Indians are only 2-1/2 back behind the Detroit Tigers who lead in the Central. The game looked like the Indians were going to run away from the Twins, but then the Twins found a way to get to Justin Masterson, who didn't have his best performance on the mound last night.
Masterson pitched for 6-2/3's and gave up 8 hit which yielded 5 runs for the Twins. Masterson, struck out 5, walked 2 and gave up one home run. One thing Indians fans were sorry to see was Ryan Raburn's hot streak come to an end.
Raburn who was hitting anything and everything, before the day off on Thursday, went 0 for 5 in the game last night. He is going to have to find his hot streak again and if he does, he won't have to worry about a day off. The Indians are playing 33 games in 33 days, they are in the heat of the season now and they should get some good weather as well.
The Tribe takes on the Twins again this afternoon and they will be looking for a series win at the least.
