The Cleveland Indians wasted little time, in game-2 against the New York Yankees. The Tribe got off to a fast start, when Carlos Santana homered to right in the 1st inning. It wasn't over there folks.
Jason Kipnis stepped up to the plate, and he hit a home run to right-center. Just like that it was the Indians 2 and the Yankees 0. Then Lonnie Chisenhall, the guy who has shown some great power hitting, stepped up to the plate in the 1st, and he hit a home run to right, which also sent Lindor across the plate. It was the Indians 4 and the Yankees 0 after 1.
This is the kind of baseball this 2016 Cleveland Indians team is capable of folks. The fireworks didn't end after one, Mike Napoli stepped up to the plate in the 3rd inning, and hit a 2-run blast over the wall in right-center which sent Lindor across the plate for the second time in 3 innings.
The Indians were up over the Yankees by a score of 6-0 after 3. The Tribe had Corey Kluber on the mound, and he continued to do what he has done all season. He pitched 8 solid innings and only gave up, 5 hits and 1 earned run.
There was no way the Yankees were going to gain any ground into the Indians lead while Kluber was pitching. The Tribe continued with their power hitting. In the 5th, Lindor doubled to deep center and Kipnis scored.
Then Napoli hit a single to center sending Lindor across the plate for the 3rd time in the game.
Then in the 6th, Gomes hit a ground ball to first base that would score the Tribes 3rd baseman Uribe. The Indians 10th and final run of the night, came off another Jason Kipnis home-run in the 7th inning.
This was his second home run in the game. The Indians tied the series at one and take on the Yankees again this afternoon folks. With the win and a Tiger loss the Tribe now has a 7-1/2 game lead over Detroit in the American League Central.
They have an 8-game lead over both the Royals and the White Sox. The Indians were the only team to win in the A.L.Central last night......
