After losing 2 in a row to the Twins, the Cleveland Indians remembered they should be able to beat a team like Minnesota. The Indians sent Justin Masterson to the rubber today who pitched a decent game.
He threw 93 pitches in the 7 innings he worked striking out 8, and only walking one hitter. Masterson did what he has done in each of his wins this season, he keep the other team off the board and watched as his teammates were able to put some runs on the scoreboard.
Cleveland needed this win today. They are still only a game and a half back in the race for the A.L. Central and have gotten off to a terrible start to the second half of the season. The Indians were only able to stay a game and a half back of the Tigers because they got off to a terrible start too.
The Indians now can breathe a little easier knowing they can win a baseball game. The team travels out to the west coast now to play the Mariners. This is another team the Tribe should be able to beat and lets hope they can take the series in Seattle.
Cleveland needs to dominate some of their series in the second half if they are going to get to post season play.
