The Cleveland Indians powered their way past the Atlanta Braves last night, to extend their winning ways to 11-games in a row. This is the longest Indians win-streak since 1982 (May 23rd thru June 4th). (stat provided by Bruce Wood).
Corey Kluber got the start, and threw for 8 solid innings. He picked up win number 8 on the season, as the Tribe
downed the Braves 5-3.
Cody Allen came in and pitched the 9th, and the Cleveland Indians continued to play some solid Baseball. The Indians are in first place in the American League Central, with a 6-game lead over the Kansas City Royals.
If you watched the game, then you had to be impressed by the play of the Indians young short-stop Francisco Lindor
. This kid continues to make defensive plays that are impossible, and he makes them look easy.
I thought Omar Vizquel was an amazing short-stop, but Lindor is probably going to be just as good if not better. The Indians scored 5 runs, on 9 hits and they were somewhat aggressive running the bases.
This is exactly the kind of play the team needs. Some are already talking World-Series and I urge you to stay patient folks. There's a heck of a lot of baseball to be played. We're not even to the half-way point yet.
I know it's tough to stay calm, but maybe, just maybe this is the Indians year......
