The Cleveland Indians are down to 17 games to try to win a wild card spot. They are a game and a half behind in the race and losing 2 out of 3 to the Royals didn’t help the cause. The Indian lost game 3 6-2.
The Indians started Scott Kazmir in game three and it didn’t take long for the Royals to take the lead in the game. The Royals jumped into the lead in the first inning when Alex Gordon hit a home run. Then the Royals scored 2 more runs in the first off of a couple of base hits.
The Indians tried to fight back scoring 2 runs of their own in the 1st but that was all the runs they would bring across the plate and they would end up losing the game and the series to a team they should have beat if they expect to be a series contender in post season play.
The Indians start a series with the White Sox tonight and this is a must win series with only 17 games left in the regular season. If the Indians expect to make it into post season play, they must find some offense to help them win in Chicago.
Time is running out and trailing by only 1-1/2 games in the wild card race still gives the Tribe a chance. It is time for the team to take advantage of the situation and take control of their own destiny.
