The Cleveland Indians are on one of their longest road trips of the season. They started it off, with a 4 game series in Texas against the Rangers. If you have followed the Tribe this season, then you were probably concerned about playing, or should I say winning on the road.
The Indians have already won 2 games in Arlington, Texas against the Rangers. The team can take this series with another win today. This is a better start to the road trip, than what took place earlier in the year. The team is really turning things around, and it’s great to see.
Especially winning a 1-run-game on the road. It wasn’t too long ago, when the Indians were struggling to win 1 run games. Now they seem to win more often.
Cleveland sent Justin Masterson to the mound in-game 3, against the Rangers, He pitched for 5-2/3′s, allowing 2 earned runs while striking out 6 and walking 2. He was struggling near the end, and manager Terry Francona, knew when to pull the plug.
The Indians offense was slow to get going in-game 3. They didn’t score until the 5th inning off of an Asdrubal Cabrera single to center, that drove in Chisenhall.
Cleveland scored 2 more in the 6th, and that was enough to beat the Rangers. Cody Allen came in for the 9th and earned his 6th save on the season. Cleveland is now in second place in the American League Central, one game above .500 and 3 games back.
There is still a lot of baseball to play on this road trip. Lets hope they can continue to win……
