You can’t say that all the losses the Cleveland Cavaliers suffered this season were a result of Chris Grant’s actions. After all, he didn’t coach the players and he wasn’t on the floor playing in the games.
But there is nothing like a mid-season shake up to show the team you want wins. The Cleveland Cavaliers answered the wake up call by beating the Washington Wizards. Cleveland played one of their better games and they looked like a team.
Kyrie Irving had 23 points and Dion Waiters led all Cavs in scoring hitting for 24 points. Waiters was on fire in the game and lets not forget about the wild thing Anderson Varejao. He played only 22 minutes but his presence on the floor seems to help the team stay hustling.
The Cavs needed this win. They needed to show Dan Gilbert they may have the pieces he talked about having to win basketball games. Mike Brown has been under fire all season long and he too needed to coach a team to a win.
The Cavs pulled it off beating the Wizards 115-113. This one looked like a total team victory and it looked like the team wanted to play. Why it took firing the teams general manager to get a fire lit under these players is something we will never understand.
These are professional NBA players and their paid to perform. Last night, they did perform and they performed well….
