The Cleveland Cavaliers have a major winning streak going as they head into the All-Star Break. Both Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson worked a remarkable 4th quarter in last nights game against the Detroit Pistons.
It wasn’t an easy win, Detroit controlled most of the game, and it looked as though the Cavaliers were going to lose most of the night. Two guys stepped up in the 4th quarter to make sure the Cavaliers contended for the entire 48 minutes.
Tristan Thompson had his finest 4th quarter in his NBA career. Thompson had 25 points to lead all scorers in the game and he added 15 rebounds to his night to make sure the Cavs were in position to pull off their 4th win in a row.
Then there was Kyrie Irving. It looked like Kyrie was in for a long night when he only put up 2 points in the first period. Somehow he was able to shake it off and with less than 3 minutes in the game, he hit an unbelievable 3 point shot to help Cleveland pull away from the Pistons.
These two players are showing what some teamwork can do. They found a way to stay in the game and they continued to chip away at the Pistons lead.
It is a shame the Cavaliers have to take some time off for the All-Star game. Lets hope the Cleveland Cavaliers can come back after the break and play the kind of basketball they have played over this 4 game stretch.
If they can, they will be a force to deal with.
