The Cleveland Cavaliers fell short of reaching the post season, despite the great effort of guys like Dion Waiters, and the great team play of Kyrie Irving. If only Irving could have figured out how to pass the ball earlier this season, the Cavs might have been able to reach the play offs.
Cleveland set a record last night in assists. Irving and the team had 26 of them in the first half alone. It goes to show you, Irving doesn’t have to carry the weight of this Cleveland team on his shoulders alone. He could have had help when the season started, and if the Cavaliers could have figured out a way for Waiters and Irving to play the way they did last night once the season was under way, Cleveland would have been a force to deal with.
The Cavaliers had their backs against the corner, and the team knew a lot of things had to go right to make it into the play offs. Cleveland got no help from Boston who had a 10 point lead over Atlanta when the 4th quarter began last night.
All the Cleveland Cavaliers can do at this point is to look forward to next season. Once again it is the same old story with a Cleveland franchise. There is always next year, and lets hope the Cleveland Cavaliers can take the lessons they learned this season into next season.
This is a young team, and they have plenty of room for growth. Kyrie showed he is maturing as an NBA player, and he had to learn the hard way how to become more of a team player…..
