The Cleveland Cavaliers don't seem to mind that Bynum didn't play last season. They have decided to sign him to the 2 year deal to bring him to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs signed him to a two-year, partially guaranteed contract that could pay as much as $24.5 million.
Bynum isn't the only guy the Cleveland Cavs are chasing down in the NBA free agency, reports have the Cavs looking to make a deal with Kirlenko to give the team some depth at the SF position. If the Cavs can get a deal done with the 32-year-old Russian, the team would be moving in a direction Cleveland fans haven't seen in a while.
The Cavaliers could be a contender. The first year of Bynum's deal with the Cavs is guaranteed for $6 million, with incentives that could make it worth as much as $12 million. The second year is a team option worth $12.5 million.
The 25-year-old Bynum could give the Cavs another big man that can fight for rebounds. At 7 foot tall and with his size he could be a threat every time he is under the basket. If they can sign Kirilenko the Cavs defense could really take off this season.
Kirilenko got a All-Defensive First Team award in 2006. The Cleveland Cavaliers are seriously going after the free agents that could help the team win this season. Getting Andrew Bynum is a huge move for the team....
