The Cleveland Browns may not know who their 2013 starting quarterback is going to be but it would sure be nice to see a guy like Johnthan Banks  starting across the field from Joe Haden. The Browns defense is in need of another great corner-back. Banks fits the bill. This guy could give the Cleveland Browns the second corner they need in the secondary that would make teams think twice about throwing the football his way. Can you imagine having two good corners in the Browns secondary?

Banks has it all, he is a complete player and can do it all. In one game in his college career in 2012 the guy was all over the field. He had recorded five solo tackles, three assists, two pass deflections and a 46-yard interception return. The guy is big, his is quick and he can be a threat on any NFL defense. The Browns need to find a way to draft this 6’2″ 185 lbs. corner back from Mississippi State.

Hey remember the time the Browns drafted a corner back from Southern Mississippi? It worked out pretty well and he played his entire career for the Browns. I know it wasn’t Mississippi State but it is in Mississippi. The guys name was Handford Dixon. I say we go back to Mississippi and get the Cleveland Browns another great Corner back….

    good article LG …

i would like to see all/most of our picks be on the defensive side of the ball … CB , OLB & S … let ray horton create an absolute stifling , aggressive defense that will keep us in the game , every game.

    banks would definitely fit-the-bill.

Thanks TB2, we could win a lot of games by limiting how many points we give up….

Though I would prefer Damontre Moore from A&M at OLB, I have no problem with your choice. As with TB2, I want to concentrate on defense (cover guys, pass rush and a good sprinkle of linebackers).

Rb, I think you are right too. We need a great line backer that will be great playing in space. I like the Moore pick too…

Oh, I agree wholeheartedly. Cornerback with first pick please !!!!
Massive problem area. That and stupid penalties. Love Norv Turner. It’s gonna be a wild season, probably another good draft and if we can get a hold of a brutish guard, another gifted receiver, and or Wes Walker, and some choice last minute veterans who can be field generals/coaches and make us hard to game plan against we should come out just fine. But I want a lot of action in free agency. Even if its in the trenches…doesn’t have to be flashy, just improvement and depth…..ya know……

Thanks for suggesting Banks. He’s the only top 5 guy that scouts describe as a “ball hawk”. A lot of people are high on Milliner, but I can’t get really excited about him. And since he comes from the Alabama defense, we can assume he’s coached to maximize his potential.

I think Banks may be a better play-maker with more upside potential. And his 4.5 40 time may be misleading. He appears to play very fast — an exciting prospect.

We definitely need a CB, and this is a good year to look at a big group of talented safeties, too, who may be available in later rounds. Perhaps going for Banks instead of Milliner might allow us to trade into the later first round and also get a second to work with.

I really like the guy and I think we all know how bad the Browns need a guy who can really play at Corner back for us. If we can amp up the defense a little it will help.
