The Cleveland Browns have released wide receiver Davone Bess. His moves on the field cost the Browns a few games last season, and his moves off the field has cost him him job with the team.
Bess was troubled when he came to the organization and the Browns front office completely missed all the warning signs. Bess had problems in Miami and he never lived up to his potential as a 3rd down receiver the team could count on.
Bess got himself into trouble and it would seem like he was crying out for help. You have to wonder what these NFL players are thinking. First it was his tweet that showed some pot, then it was his antics at an Airport, where he had an altercation with the security officer that confronted him, and Bess threw coffee on him.
How could the Browns front office ignore the signs, when they made the trade for this guy?
He will be best remembered as the guy who cost the Browns the chance to hand the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss of the 2013 season. Bess dropped a few passes in the game and then fumbled a punt which could have given the Browns a shot at the win.
The Browns are a much better team without this guy in camp. Good bye and good riddance to Devone Bess.
