The Cleveland Browns have released their all-pro corner-back Joe Haden. This was long over-due. Haden isn't the all-pro he was supposed to be, and I've said it for years. Haden has lost more than a step, and his production in the Browns defensive secondary has been terrible over the past few years.

Sure Haden had some  injuries, but before that he couldn't cover the taller player very well, just ask AJ Green. Haden got burnt many times when he tried to cover the taller wide-receivers in the NFL.

It's starting to look like the Cleveland Browns coaching staff and front office is serious, about building a team that might be able to contend in the NFL. Releasing Haden shows me how serious they are.

Getting rid of this player, will save the Browns a 14 million dollar cap hit over the next two seasons. I doubt anyone can say Haden was worth this kind of money to the team He was very productive in the 2017 preseason, and you hardly heard his named called at all.

I know some fans will be disappointed that the Browns cut this guy, but look at it as a positive. After all, there were rumors swirling about a possible trade, and it wasn't like the rest of the NFL was pounding down the Browns front door to grab Haden.

I'm sure he will land on his feet somewhere in the NFL, but for the first time in a long time, it looks as though the Cleveland Browns are able to properly evaluate talent.

See ya Joe Haden.
