The Cleveland Browns and Barkevious Mingo came to terms and got a deal done. Mingo and the Browns came to terms on a 4 years deal that has an option for the fifth year. Mingo the big pass rusher from LSU who was the 6th over-all pick in the 2013 NFL draft can now get to work with Ray Horton’s defensive unit.
With the Mingo signing the Browns have now signed all of their draft picks. Leon McFadden and seventh-round pick Armonty Bryant, who both signed four-year contracts on Friday with the Browns. It is good to see that the Browns worked overtime to secure all of their draft picks.
The team is going to need the time to focus on the transition to the 3-4 defense and if they can get everyone to work, the team should have time to make the switch smoothy. Horton wouldn’t want it any other way.
The Browns made a lot of moves this off-season to bring in some defensive players that will give the team a lot of depth defensively this season. If Mingo can get up to NFL speed before the season starts he will make a huge impact for the Browns pass rush.
The guy is an explosive player who can bring the pressure to the opposing team’s QB. One problem that Mingo may face if the size of NFL line-men. These guys are bigger than what Mingo is used to in college and his speed could help him to avoid being blocked.
It is going to be exciting to see just how good the Browns defense is going to be this season. With the Mingo deal done, they can now get to work.
