There’s a senator in Florida pushing a bill that would punish the NFL for blacking out any NFL games played in Florida. While this would please many people in Florida, I don’t see it as fair for the teams. The Buccaneers, Jaguars and Dolphins are trying to sell tickets. I realize tickets are very expensive and out of the price range of many but unfortunately it’s just how our economy goes these days. Fans in the Tampa Bay area had many many sellouts and it was never a problem. Now with the economy the way it is and the Bucs not playing top notch ball, some home games are not being seen. Growing up in Cleveland, I knew you had to go to the stadium to see home games or turn on the radio and listen to Gib Shanley.
The bill would make the NFL pay monies that would be used to buy tickets for servicemen to see games. I kind of like that but how about the State just buy up leftover tickets and give it to the same servicemen without punishing the NFL. We’ve had home team blackouts for a long long time. I just don’t see it fair to NOW punish the NFL because whining fans don’t want to pay to see their teams or have to (GOSH!) listen to it on the radio! http://www.baynews9.com/article/news/2011/november/339258/Bill-would-punish-NFL-teams-for-blacking-out-games-in-Fla?cmpid=facebook
