The NBA season is just about over and the Cleveland Cavaliers are on a mini winning streak. The Cavs had some solid support from their bench as they beat the Orlando Magic last night. The Cavaliers had 34 points from their bench in the game.

Shaun Livingston, led the way with 12 points off the bench and both Marreese Speights and C.J. Miles scored 8. The Cleveland starters were led by Alonzo Gee who scored 19 points and Tristan Thompson added another solid performance with 15 points and 16 rebounds.

You have to be impressed with the performance of Thompson. Not only is he playing better offensively, he is also doing a better job on defense.  If this guy can continue to improve the way he has over the past few games he is going to be one of the players the Cavs can build around.

This was a game that means nothing to the Cavaliers, they were so far out of any kind of play-off spots they could have just lost out and it wouldn’t have made a difference. The team was down by 4 points after the 3rd quarter and they managed to pull this win out in the 4th.

Winning it in the 4th is something we are not used to seeing from the Cleveland Cavaliers. Could it be they are just figuring this thing out? Lets hope they can remember these lessons learned throughout the off-season.
