For Ubaldo Jimenez 13 proves to be a very lucky number. That is how many wins he had this season and the Indians are taking the 2013 season into extra innings. The Tribe will host the wild card game this Wednesday night at Progressive Filed.
The Indians are coming into the play-offs with a 10 game win streak in-tacked. They finished the season as one of the hottest ball clubs in major league baseball. They finished the season at only 1 game behind the Detroit Tigers for the top spot in the American League central.
The Indians starting pitching staff has been one of the best staffs in major league baseball since the all-star break. Mickey Callaway is one of the greatest pitching coaches in the game today. He took a staff of guys who had problems and he turned them into one of the very best in all of baseball.
It came down to game number 162 and the Indians knew what they had to do. They went out and they got the job done and no other team in the major league has a better record over their last 10 games than the Cleveland Indians.
They beat the Twins today and they showed they have what it takes to move on to the next step. Terry Francona loves this team and he couldn’t ask for a better group of guys. This team could turn some heads once the play offs start, and nothing would be more exciting than to see the Cleveland Indians knock the Detroit Tigers out of the play offs.
Congratulations to the 2013 Cleveland Indians on one fantastic second half of the season. Each and every player did their job and they did it beyond expectations.
