The Cleveland Indians beat the Chicago White Sox last night off the bats of Carlos Santana, Jack Hannahan who’s been doing it all season and a rejuvenated Travis Hafner who has come into the 2012 season healthy and hitting the ball like the Hafner of old. The Tribe sent Josh Tomlin to the mound who didn’t get the win last night, Tomlin pitched well and left the game after six with the Indians and the Whites Sox tied at 3.
Carlos Santana helped the Indians with a home run blast in the 5th scoring Asdruabal Cabrera and Travis Hafner which put the Tribe on top 3-1. The the White Sox tied it at three with a couple of back to back hits. The Indians re-gained the lead when Jack Hannahan hit a double that would drive in Michael Brantley in the 8th.
Travis Hafner gave the Indians some insurance in the 9th with a home run to right that drove in Cabrera making it 6-3 Indians to get the win. Joe Smith would add the win to his totals. Vinny Pestano and Chris Perez would each pitch an inning last night .
