Cleveland Browns wide receiver/return specialist Josh Cribbs flew to Arizona to meet with the Cardinals Sunday night to put the final touches on his new contract. Cribbs is set to take a physical on Monday and if things go well he could be signing his first free agency contract as early as today. This would officially end his Career with the Cleveland Browns, a team he has served for his entire pro football career.
Cribbs came out before free agency started and said he would take a pay cut to stay and finish his career with the Browns. No interest came out of Browns headquarters in Berea to resign the free agent who made the pro bowl last season. Cribbs highlighted his receiving talents during the pro-bowl and he could get some playing time as a wide receiver in Arizona. While it is an emotional goodbye for some in Cleveland it is a new start for others.
The Cleveland Browns drafted Travis Benjamin last season and many are waiting to see what he can bring to the Browns return game with his speed Benjamin i undoubtedly one of the fastest men in the NFL. While we wish Josh Cribbs the very best, we also can’t wait to see what Benjamin can bring to the Browns special teams. It is the end of the era for some and the start of a new one for others.
