Reports are out that the New York Yankees could be close to a deal to sign Indians D.N. Travis Hafner. Why would the Yankees want Hafner. The guy spends more time in the D.L. than anyone I know other than Grady Sizemore. Hafner would make a big buck for the Yankees and bring a small return to the team in the big apple. Hafner played in only 66 games last year and hit only 12 home runs. In the 2011 season he played in 94 games and only hit 13 home runs. He was paid very well for doing very little.
In 2010 Hafner only hit 12 home runs. Why on earth would the New York Yankees want to sign Hafner to the team? They must have an extra spot they want to fill on their D.L.. The Good news is, if they sign Hafner he won’t be back in Cleveland. The Indians paid enough to the Travis Hafner retirement account already.
