Michael Irvin was singing high praise about Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon.  Gordon was amazing last season. Irvin a former NFL great, knows greatness when he sees it. When talking about Gordon he said; God Don’t Make A Bunch of Those kind of guys.”

Irvin is spot on. The Cleveland Browns are fortunate to have a receiver as blessed as Gordon is. Last season he was being verbally assaulted by former Browns CEO Joe Banner. Banner had a chip on his shoulder and said; Gordon better prove himself, he better go out there and show this organization he was well worth a second round draft pick.

Maybe Banner should have seen Josh Gordon through the eyes of Irvin. He sure knows how to spot talent and Gordon sure did prove himself last year.

He caught 87 passes for 1,646 yards and scored 9 touchdowns. If that’s not proving you are worth a second round pick, I don’t know what is.   What can we expect from Gordon this season?

You have to remember he put up those kind of numbers after missing 2 regular season games. Imagine what this kid could have done playing 16 games. He lead all NFL receivers in yards and had 23 fewer catches than the second place finisher.

This guy averaged 18.9 yards per catch. That is 5.3 yards per catch longer than the next best guy. I would agree with Michael Irvin, God doesn’t make a bunch of those kind of guys.

Gordon didn’t even have the luxury of getting tight with one quarterback. He did this when the Browns used 3 QB’s.

Imagine if he played with the same quarterback for 16 games. Gordon numbers could approach highs we have never seen before.

I say he was well worth the 2nd round pick. To obtain a player of his caliber, I would give up the farm. Josh Gordon was a steal for the Cleveland Browns and it was one of the great things former GM Tom Heckert has ever done for the city of Cleveland and the Cleveland Browns.

I can’t wait to see what this kid does during the 2014 NFL season. If he stays healthy he will be Unstoppable……..
