Brantley Hits 3 run homerThe Cleveland Indians were in the midst of a 9 game losing streak when Michael Brantley came to the plate in the first inning with Jason Kipnis on base who was hit with a pitch and Shin-Soo Choo on base who was able to draw a walk. It was time for Michael Brantley to make those damn Yankees pay for hitting Kipnis and walking Choo and that is exactly what the Indians best situation hitter Michael Brantley did, he hit a three runs blast that would score three runs and put the Indians on top of the Yankees 3-0.

The Indians were able to hold the Yankees to just one run tonight with Justin Masterson getting back to basics, he pitched for 6-2/3rd’s innings and only gave up 1 run on 7 hits. When Masterson had a little trouble in the 7th it was Vinnie Pestano who Manny Acta called upon to pitched another multiple inning outing to  keep the Tribe in position to get a much over due needed win. That’s exactly what Pestano  did. He got them out of the 7th and pitched a great 8th to set it up for Tribe Closer Chris Perez who came in to close those damn Yankees down and preserve an Indians win to halt the terrible 9 game losing streak.

The Indians would take this one from New York 3-1 and the Tribe looks to take the series with a win tomorrow….
