Kyrie Irving returned to the NBA tonight without missing a beat. The Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Indiana Pacers tonight 98-87 as the Cavaliers dominated wire to wire on both ends of the floor. Kyrie Irving who missed 5 days with a concussion didn’t miss a beat with his 22 points, 3 rebounds and five assists. Iriving continues to make a great argument for NBA rookie of the year.
The Cavaliers had 11 turnovers tonight, it didn’t matter with the way the Cavaliers played defense against the Pacers. The Cavaliers saw Semih Erden go out and play up to the expectations coach Byron Scott has been looking for tonight. With Anderson Varejao missing in the center the Cavaliers needed Erden to hustle and play a good game. Tonight we saw that, Erden had 18 points, 8 rebounds and 1 assist. If Erden can continue to play with those kind of numbers this Cavaliers team is going to be hard to stop.
Antwan Jamison didn’t have a high scoring night, he did put 13 points on the board and had 8 rebounds which I think is huge for Jamison and 4 assists. Omri Casspi contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds. The Cavaliers defensively put together a fa-nominal effort. Lets hope the Cleveland Cavaliers learned from this total team effort and can continue to play like this when they take on the Miami Heat Friday night….
