Justin Masterson pitched 9 full inning of shut out baseball to help the Cleveland Indians regain part of first place in the A.L. Central. Masterson pitched another complete game today and he did it in shut out fashion.

He only gave up 6 hits to the Chicago Whites Sox and held them scoreless for the game. Masterson threw 112 pitches and 73 of them were for strikes. He only walked one batter and he did what he has done most of this season, he brought his good stuff to the mound with him.

The Indians completed the sweep over the White Sox and now own part of first place with the Tigers. Cleveland has a 4 game winning streak going and the Tribe is playing some pretty darn good baseball. People are starting to think the Indians are the real deal this season.

The Indians are a legitimate contender this season. Ryan Raburn got the Tribes scoring started when he hit a double to deep center that would allow  Stubbs  to score. Just like that the Tribe was in the lead 1-0.

Then Carlos Santana hit a single to left which allowed Raburn to score, it was 2-0, Indians in the 4th. Masterson would not allow the White Sox to get anything going and in the 5th inning Chisenhall hit a single to get the Indians a 3-0 lead.

In the 9th Stubbs would hit a ground rule double that allowed Brantley to score and that is the way the game ended with the Indians on top 4-0 to get the sweep and part of first place. Masterson was Master-full in today’s game.

The Indians are now 6 games above the .500 mark at 44-38 and there is nothing that can stop them if they continue to play the way they are playing now.
