Anerson Varejao & Kyrie Irving Lead CavsThe Cleveland Cavaliers fell short once again this season, it wasn’t because of Varejao and Irving. Between the two of them they combined for 69 of the Cleveland Cavaliers 101 points. The Cavaliers are seeing a rejuvenated Anderson Varejao this season, Varejao had 35 points and 18 rebounds against  the Brooklyn Nets. Varejao is having an all star season thus far. If only one more Cleveland Cavalier could play with the same kind of effort we are seeing from Varejao this season the Cavaliers could be winning more game. Irving had 34 points last night and the kid was constantly feeding the ball to Varejao. Irving had 8 assists and 3 steals.

The Cavaliers are falling short in the defense department. They have to come together and play better defense if they expect to win more games. The Cavs are now 2-6 on the season and 1-5 on the road. If the team can come together and find some defense they will score enough points to contend this season bu they have to come together to play some defense. The team isn’t getting it done defensively and until they do the team is going to continue to lose.

Tristan Thompson was the teams other top contributor in the game last night, he followed the Varejao, Irving show with 14 points of his own with 5 rebounds. The Cavaliers bench continues to be a disappointment this season. The entire bench combined for only 6 points in 61 minutes of play.

Why Omri Casspi is still in a Cavaliers uniform continues to baffle me, this guy hasn’t done much since coming to the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cavs need someone who can come into the game off the bench and get something done. The cavs made a huge error getting rid of JJ Hickson. Now it is time for Caspi to vacate the spot on the teams rooster and get someone who is going to make a better effort….
