The Cleveland Indians came home after completing a sweep in their last series. The table was set for the Tribe to make a run to continue their 3 game win streak. Returning to Progressive field should have gave the Indians the upper hand in the series against the Twins, that wasn’t the case in last nights game.
The Indians lost to the Minnesota Twins 5-1 in a games where the Indians Bull-Pen didn’t perform very well and the Indians offense couldn’t get anything going. If the Tribe wants a shot at post season play, they have to find a way to beat teams like the Twins.
Cleveland continues to struggle against teams they should beat. The Indians offense is not consistent enough to make the charge needed to find their way into post season play. They can’t win games only scoring one run against teams like the Twins.
The Indians bull-pen continues to be a issue too. They gave up 3 runs after Jimenez held the Twins to only 5 hits and 2 runs in the 6 innings he pitched. The Indians need guys like Nick Swisher to find some consistency and they need him to do it quickly.
Swisher went 0 for 3 in last nights game. Kipnis went 0 for 4 in the game and Cabrera went 1 for 4. These are the guys who could make a difference for the Indians if they could just find some consistency.
With the loss the Indians fall to 6 games back in the A.L. Central and they are 2-1/2 games out of the wild card spot. With only 34 games left in the regular season the Indians better get it going soon.
