The Cleveland Indians, contenders or pretenders. That was the question before the Indians took on the Tigers in a 4 games series and lost them all. Then it was time to move on and play some winning baseball again. That didn’t happen.
The Indians dropped their 5th game in a row, losing to the Los Angeles Angels last night. The Indian were beat 5-2. It is almost like the Indians offense has vanished. Where are those hits that could drive in runs earlier in the season?
The team is struggling offensively and they are losing ball games. The Tribe started Scott Kazmir last night and he only pitched for 3 innings giving up 6 hits and 5 runs. It was one of his worst outing of the 2013 season.
The Indians need their starting rotation to get back to work and they need their offense to wake up. If they continue to play the kind of baseball they are currently playing, it will be no wonder they are the 4th lowest in the MLB in attendance.
The fans have seen the Indians fall apart in the second half of the season for the past few years. This season with Terry Francona managing the team we were hopeful that he could keep his guys in the game.
For a while it looked good, but now it is starting to resemble more of the same.
