The Cleveland Indians have made a lot of off-season moves, they have to be hoping guys like Ubaldo Jimenez can break through this season and give the Indians some good solid starting pitching.. Jimenez has struggled since he came to Cleveland from the Rockies. Last season Ubaldo went 9-17 with a 5.40 E.R.A.. He looked like he was going to have a break through year in 2012 and he was very close at times. Jimenez has most of his pitching problems in the early innings of the games. If he can get off to a good start this season and he can give Terry Francona some good innings of work he could be on his way to doing some great work this season.
Jimenz has been battling problems with his mechanics since making the transition to the American League. There is something about his delivery that is just a little off at times. If the Indians are going to be consistent in 2013 the starting pitchers are going to have to deliver some solid performances. You have to wonder if a guy like Francona will be able to get more out of Jimenez than the last Indians manager.
Francona brings a ton of experience to the Cleveland Indians. Hopefully he will have a better understanding about what it is Jimenez needs to do to have a break out year. When Francona talks about Jimenez it seems like he likes what he has seen so far with him. Lets hope that Jimenez can find his stuff this season and he can turn it around. He does have the stuff to be a great pitchers and with Francona’s help he just may be able to break out in 2013….
