Here we are after losing the series to the Blue Jays and we have no answers yet. It’s a little over 2 weeks til the trade deadline and we ask ourselves “will the Tribe make a move?” One day we won on one hit. A dinger by Pronk. The next day we scored 9 runs and lost. Today we didn’t score at all. Oh, by the way we’re now in 3rd place. We need hitting AND pitching. Do we make a move? I’d like that but wait…. at what cost? We’ve depleted our AAA club badly over the last year with the trade for Jimenez and players we’ve brought up. Do we chance depleting it more on a trade or do we listen to Shelley Duncan who thinks we can do it with who we have. I’m starting to think we might have to.
We have one blue chip player out there named Francisco Lindor. I think he’s a superstar in the making. If they trade HIM, I think I may actually drive up to Cleveland and kick Chris Antonetti as hard as I can in his nuts! Duncan may actually be on to something though. We have a smokin’ late relief corps. If we could develop our middle relief pitching and get busy fixing the swings of some of our hitting, we can contend. What’s up with Santana? I was looking for a .300 hitter with 30 homers out of this guy! He needs work! Maybe we need new pitching and hitting coaches. I don’t know!
What I DO know is that I’m not happy with what Antonetti is doing. He makes poor decisions and Dolan should see that and make some office corrections. We need some brains in there. I think maybe John Hart could use another chance. I’d hate to see another lackluster 2nd half. We’ve been there too many times, dammit!
