Byron Scott Should be Fired The Cleveland Cavaliers lost another game last night and the team is now 10-32 on the season. Byron Scott is the only coach that has not been fired by a Major Cleveland Franchise this season. The Browns fired Shurmur, the Indians fired Acta and Scott remains at the helm of a losing NBA franchise. The Cleveland Cavaliers are the second worse team in the NBA just ahead of Washington by 2 games when it comes to winning.

Some think the only reason Scott hasn’t been fired yet is the Cavs are so young. On the other hand Scott is known for helping to develop young NBA talent. He isn’t having much luck with the Cleveland Cavaliers in that department either. Sure he has done a great job getting his offense to score a lot of points, but the teams is really lacking any serious consistent defense.

Doesn’t Byron Scott think he needs a big defensive improvement to get his team some more wins? The Cavaliers have lost some heart breakers this season and it is all do to a poor defensive effort. Scott has to get these players to play defense. If he can’t do it he needs to go. Dan Gilbert has been very patient with Byron Scott up till now.

No, Byron Scott does not need to be fired. I don’t think any coach has a remedy for coaching effort. These guys don’t play hard every game, bottom line. You cannot blame him for that. They are young and are rookies and they aren’t use to this pace. Give them time to adjust to the pace of the game and the dedication and commitment it takes. These guys are use to 2 games a week, not 4 games a week, plus many back-to-back games. The games are coming now that they have more veterans on the team. Every solution cannot be to fire the coach. Just my take on it.
