The Cleveland Cavaliers are done playing basketball this season. There is no surprise about the team not making the NBA play-offs. The Cavs stunk again this year. They showed promise in some games and lost some games they should have won.
Now the question is whether head coach Byron Scott gets to keep his job. I say yes, Dan Gilbert will keep Scott in control of the team. Even though the Cavaliers have lost more games than they win under Scott, Gilbert knew it would take time to rebuild the team after the so-called king left Cleveland.
Injuries played a role in the losses this season too. Losing a guy like Anderson Verejao for most of the season didn’t help the teams chances of winning . Then, there were the injuries Kyrie Irving suffered with.
The Cavaliers could have won more games if they didn’t come out of the locker room for the second half and fall asleep. This I blame on Scott, he has to become a better motivator for the Cavs. Somehow Scott needs to find a way to get his players to play for 48 minutes in every game.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have done this for 3 seasons now. They look good in the first half only to fall apart in the second half or in the 4th quarter. No one knows what the future holds for Scott or the Cleveland Cavaliers.
It should be an interesting next couple of days in Cleveland and it will be interesting to see what this team can do in the upcoming NBA draft. For Cavs fans it was just another dismal season.
