We all know how the Browns general manager Michael Lombardi feels about Brian Hoyer. When the team sign him many thought it was  because of how much Lombardi likes this kid. The team already signed Jason Campbell and planned on using him as Weeden’s back up.

But now with the Injury to Weeden’s thumb. Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski isn’t so quick to name Campbell as the starter when the team travels to Minnesota to take on the Vikings in week 3. Some think Lombardi may be applying some pressure to Chudzinski to start Hoyer instead of Campbell.

Hoyer did display some know how in the Browns last preseason game against the Bears and some fans can agree that Hoyer should get this start. Chud could be just playing a little game not naming his starter to try to make the Vikings guess. But the way the Browns offense has performed thus far this season, there really is very little reason to do that.

It will be interesting to see which back up quarterback will get the start if Weeden can’t answer the call.

It will really be interesting to see what happens if the guy who gets the call out plays Weeden. What would the Browns do if that happens? Tell us who you think should get the start if Weeden can go on Sunday.

If Weeden is out, I think Hoyer should get the start LG. If Hoyer then outplays Weeden he should keep his place in the team.
If he doesn’t outplay Weeden, then Weeden should get back in and you and your little friends should start supporting the guy as the best ‘your’ team has at the moment, and get behind the Browns. Sound fair?.
I am all for winning LG, whoever plays, and if it is Hoyer, then so be it. But I do think Weeden has been slaughtered on these pages for far too long now, and I hope that whatever happens on the QB front in the next few weeks, the abuse ends.

Arthur, to be honest with you, if the Browns do find Hoyer to be better than Weeden, then Weeden is finished here in Cleveland. So you can count on the abuse as you call it coming to a a halt. But if this kid out plays him mand they still stick weeden back in he will continued to get abused as you call it….

What if he doesn’t outplay him though LG?. What then?. Do you accept it?. Or do you and your disciples continue on with the assault?.
Look, I really want Hoyer to be the guy, if not him, then whoever, because ultimately I want us to win.
But I am not convinced that Weeden is as bad as you are saying. And I want to see him playing with a full complement of receivers who can actually catch the ball.
I am amazed that you have not posted one negative Greg Little piece, relating to his exploits on the field.
If you have truly watched every play of every game, like you claim, then surely you have seen the way Little has hurt this team.
My patience has run out with him. It hasn’t with Weeden, not yet.
I can’t ask you to share the love LG, because you don’t have any to give, but you could at least share the hate, and give Little what he deserves after a string of poor performances.

to all my fellow Browns fans. Over the last two weeks we have been on Weedon’s case, but I feel with just cause. The thing that bothered me from the beginning with Weedon is he is not mobile! Watch every game and every highlight of the Brown’s and other teams and watch their quarterback and see if 90% of them are able to scramble! Even big Ben with Pittsburgh who is 6 foot five 265 pounds. He was able to scramble against the ravens because they did not expect him to run. however, when the ravens caught on, I’m sure you noticed the scrambling came to an and and he ended up being sacked, or hit. In my opinion he didn’t do that great a job. That’s always been the biggest problem with Weedon, he’s a pocket passer that does not wash in the NFL today! they said he’s better are the shotgun formation. I didn’t see it A lot of comments that have been made to wards, LG, myself and others that this in him that is are just like for his abilities. I hate to keep hitting on this point. I honestly believe he is not an NFL quarterback. He just doesn’t have what it takes. He had summer camp and two regular-season games to correct this. I watched ESPN and they showed some highlights where the camera was located . I believe in the end zone. You can see him staring down his receiver and then he missed him. Granted we do not have the best receiving corps. However, when you throw behind your receiver or too high, you’re going to have turnovers! Granted, our offense of line has not been at its best, which I understand puts a lot of pressure on the quarterback. But a good QB or should I say smart usually will make some type of play. During preseason, personally, I thought Campbell looked better than weedon! I thought Hoyer showed some great potential! But I will say this again. In my 60 years of watching the Brown’s and of course other teams play and in my gut feeling. I think Hoyer with time could be a good quarterback. I would bet money he would not be any worse then weedon!the other QB that I thought showed promise was Lewis! But for some reason they let him go? The player that made Hillis , who opened up holes for him and was a good blocker was Vickers!. He had surgery on his back, but from my understanding he’s 100% yet. He’s just sitting at home! , he just might make Richardson look good again! . One other thing that no one has mentioned at least in the last couple weeks that bothers me is, did anyone see the owner at the ravens game?

Can we STAY AWAY from drafting QB’s with SINGLE digits on their uniforms. Un-notables we’ve started as QB for the Browns with single digits: Tim Couch #2, Brandon Weeden #3, Derek Anderson #3, Jeff Garcia #5, Seneca Wallace #6, Trent Dilfer #8, Charlie Frye #9, Thad Lewis #9. NOTE: Brady Quinn, Kelly Holcolmb and Colt McCoy played like a single digit QB’s despite their #’s being “10, 10 & 12″. When I went through the whole list of former Browns starting QB’s, there were so many pathetic QB’s listed I became dizzy and nauseas and only included this list before I had to sit down and catch my breath. I’m sure if I spent more time researching I could have added a few more, but why bother?!?!? Oh and get this, rumors are already floating Browns are interested in Johnny Manziel. So does that mean the season is over??? BTW, his uniform is #2. Good, real good!!!! Same as Tim Couch’s!!!!!!!!

We all know of Lombardi’s legendary ability to identify college players with NFL talent and draft future Hall of Famers. He does this year in and year out just exactly like how The Wizard over at ex-Browns HQ in Balt. MD does it, right? Ok, ok just kidding and a test to ensure you weren’t day dreaming and glancing over my post. Now my preferance would be to have a Judicial Court mandated restraining order barring Lombardi of being withing of the Brown’s room during NFL draft day so he can assist in one of his inept draft plays, but chances are he’ll still have a hand in it. With that said, with the Browns there comes a certain amount of superstition and can we please, please, I’m begging STAY AWAY from drafting QB’s with SINGLE digits on their uniforms. I noticed since we’ve come back to the NFL we’ve had a number of them and several Un-notables we’ve started as QB for the Browns with single digits: Tim Couch #2, Brandon Weeden #3, Derek Anderson #3, Jeff Garcia #5, Seneca Wallace #6, Trent Dilfer #8, Charlie Frye #9, Thad Lewis #9.
