The Cleveland Indians took their second game in a row from the Detroit Tigers. The Indians sent Zach McAllister to the mound for the start and he pitched 6-1/3 innings very well. McAllister gave up 8 hits and two runs. McAllister has done nothing but great things for the Cleveland Indians since stepping in for Tomlin. Tribe Skipper is very lucky to have Zach to come up and fill in and do a great job from time to time.
The Indians offense was being held down by the Tigers pitcher Doug Fister was able to hold the Indians score-less for five innings to match the performance of McAllister who also kept Detroit off the score-board threw five innings. The Game was tied at two after six and the Indians were able to make the most of the eighth inning tonight. First the offense took off scoring 2 more runs to go on-top of the Tigers 4-2 and then the Indians saw some of the best pitching of the season when Vinnie Pestano came in and was able to work out of a bases loaded situation to help set things up for Indians closer Chris Perez who came in and earned his 15th save on the season.
Vinnie Pestano would get the win his second on the year. Kipnis would come out of his slump going 3-4 and the Indians now have a chance to sweep the series from the Tigers and go up by six games over Detroit.
