The Cleveland Indians are looking for their fifth starter in the Tribes rotation. Yesterday the Indians sent Kevin Slowey to the mound who is competing for the fifth spot in the Indians rotation. Slowey didn't fair to well, the second pitch he threw was sent over the outfield fence. The Angels have man handled the Indians starters this spring. In other games the Indians had to climb from behind because of all the runs the Indians starters have given up.
Today the Indians are sending Ubaldo Jimenez to the mound to do battle with the Cincinnati Reds. The Indians have had their fair share of problems with the Reds putting lots of runs on the board this spring too. If Jimenez is on the guy is almost UN-hittable. We saw Masterson the other day finding his groove. The Indians are hopeful Jimenez can find his rhythm today.
The Indians need Jimenez this season more than ever with the shake up to the rotation. Since coming to the Indians in a trade last season Jimenez has struggled to find his stuff. If Ubaldo can get his mechanics right he will be a major addition to the Tribes starting rotation. If the Indians have hope of contending this season the starting rotation is going to have to become consistent. Lets see if that Consistency starts today with Jimenez.
