The Cleveland Indians would have a full-house last night, something that hasn’t happen a lot in Cleveland. The fans would come out to support the team and Justin Masterson as they started a 4 game series against their rivals from up north the Detroit Tigers.

Mastserson has been the Indians best starter all season long, he give the team the most innings and he has had a lot of success this year pitching a couple of complete games. That wouldn’t happen last night. Even though the fans were there to support this Indians, the team would get shut out and Masterson would be pulled out early in this one.

Mastserson was hit and he gave up 7 hits and 6 earned runs in the 4-2/3’s he pitched. Not the kind of performance he wanted in front of the 40 plus thousand that showed up to support the team. The Indians offense was held scoreless by the Tigers and the team would drop their 3rd game in a row and are now 2-1/2 games back of the Tigers in the A.L. Central.

Most of the damage done to Masterson came off base hits, the only long ball he gave up was a double to former Indian Jhonny Peralta that drove in 2 runs. Justin Masterson just didn’t have his good stuff in this one and it showed.

He doesn’t usually last for only 4-2/3’s of an inning when he starts. The Cleveland Offense has to find a way to get some runs on the board in the 3 games renaming. The Detroit pitching is going to get tougher as the games go on.

The Cleveland Indians offense has to find a way to make things happen to get a few wins over the Tigers. They have the fan support now it is time to get the job done. Losing 7-0 is not what the Cleveland Fans wanted to see last night.
