The Cleveland Indians will be sending Derek Lowe to the mound tonight to try to take game two of the three game series from the Detroit Tigers tonight. Lowe has had a rough time in the second half of the season after getting off to a terrific start this season. The Indians have a little momentum going in their two game winning streak, if the streak is to get extended to 3 in a row Lowe is going to have to have a good start tonight. Derek Lowe has only two wins in his last ten starts, his last coming on July 4th when he faced the Angels.
The Indians are now just three games back in the A.L. Central and the Tigers are tied with the White Sox for first place. As the race heats up so has the Indians bats. They didn’t score many runs in their last two wins, they did score enough to get the victories. With Lowe on the mound tonight facing the Tigers it would be nice if the Indians offense can get something going early. Derek Lowe could use some extra help in trying to keep the Tribes momentum alive.
