The Cleveland Indians start a 9 game road trip. They start out with a 3 game series against the New York Yankees, then they play the Tigers for 3 games and it is off to Texas to face the Rangers for 3 games once the Tigers series is over.
Tonight when the Indians take on the Yankees, Justin Masterson gets the start. He has a record of 8-3 on the season. The Yankees are in 2 game losing streak, they are 3 games behind in the A.L. East. The Yankees have had a good season.
The Tigers are in first place in the A.L. Central and the Indians have chased them for a while. Cleveland is only a 1/2 back in the Central at the moment. The Rangers are one of the hottest team's in baseball. With a record of 35-21, the Rangers have a 2 game lead in the A.L. west.
The Cleveland Indians are in for a great test to see how good this team can be. This is going to be a tough trip and if they can play ,500 ball on this trip they will be doing great. I'm hoping they can do better than .500 but the team's the Indians are playing aren't going to make it easy.
The Indians lost yesterday to the Tampa Bay Rays and that was an ugly loss. Tribe manager Terry Francona was ejected by the home plate umpire for arguing called strikes. The Indians offense tried to make a charge but came up 8 runs short losing the game 11-3 and dropping the series to the Rays.
Lets hope the Tribe gets it done in this 9 game trip.
