The Cleveland Indians just won their 3rd game in a row over the Oakland A’s giving the Tribe its 9th win out of their last 10 games. Tonight it was Justin Masterson who took to the mound for his Tribe. Masterson was struggling and so was the Indians offense. The A’s looked like they were going to take this game until  Nick Swisher & Carlos Santana hit solo shots in the 6th to give the Indians the lead.

Masterson was having problems tonight, he only gave up 4 hits, but those 4 hits put 3 runs on the scoreboard for Oakland. Masterson didn’t pitch as bad as it looked, he walked 2 and struck out 7. During the game it looked like he was having his share of problems tonight.  He didn’t have the control he usually has and he struggled. But so did the Indians offense.

The A’s took the lead in the 4th inning when Masterson had his problems. They were able to score 3 runs as the A’s were chipping away at Masterson’s pitches. It really was his worse inning of the game. I guess it looks worse than it is when your team isn’t putting runs on the score board.

Then the 5th inning came and good things started happening for the Indians. Michael Brantley grounded into fielder’s choice to second, Ryan Raburn scored, Drew Stubbs was out at second, and Lonnie Chisenhall moved to third, then  Chisenhall scored on throwing error by shortstop A Rosales.

That’s when ya knew the Indians were on their way back. Then in the 6th inning Swisher hit a solo shot making it a tied game. As Swisher was doing a dance in the Indians dug-out, Carlos Santana hit a solo shot to give the Cleveland Indians the lead and the win.

The Tribe has been on fire over their last 10 games. They took 3 in a row from the Oakland A’s, which by the way is a pretty darn good ball club. If the Indians can continue to play the kind of baseball they are playing now, it will be an interesting come fall.

The Indians win over the A’s 4-3 tonight.
