Michael BrantleyThe Cleveland Indians beat the L.A. Angeles 12-3 to take the series. Michael Brantley got the scoring started for his Cleveland Indians with a three run shot in the first Inning that got the other Tribe batsman infected with the Hitting Virus today. Before you knew it, the Cleveland Indians would get a three run shot from Casey Kotchman in the second inning making it 6-0 Tribe. The Cleveland Indians had fun today scorching the Angele’s pitching staff. It was a lesson in hitting the Indians gave to L.A. Michael got the scoring started and the Indians never looked back.

When Manny Acta took Brantley out of the lead off spot, something positive happened. Brantley became one of Major League baseballs best hitters. Brantley is hitting .278 on the season with 2 home runs and 40 R.B.I.’s. Brantley has a .323 on base percentage. If the Indians could hit with men in scoring position as a habit the Indians would indeed be in first place on top of the A.L. Central, and Michael Brantley would be helping the team get there with as many times as he gets on base.

The Indians had Derek Lowe pitching today and he got the win. This was Lowe’s first win since June first. Brantley giving Lowe three runs in the first inning today had to  lift to Lowe’s confidence. The Indians have a series to play against the Tampa Bay Rays before the All-Star Break. Brantley and the rest of the Indians are going to have to keep their high-powered offense going to get through that series. If the Indians can get guys like Michael Brantley to keep things going the way they are capable of doing it, the Tribe could very well be in first place when the break gets here….

I have known Michael since he was in t-ball – I have watched him grow into a wonderful young man, as well as a terrific ballplayer! I hope he always knows how proud we are of him and how much we are rooting for him!
