The Cleveland Indians sent their ace to the mound last night looking to get the team their second win over the Toronto Blue Jays in as many days. It didn’t turn out according to plan. Masterson didn’t get the win and the Indians are now 4-1/2 games back in the race to claim the A.L. Central.

Justin Masterson pitched a good game, he made it through 6-2/3′s innings and he only gave up 4 hits and 2 runs in the game. He struck out 6 but he walked 5. The Indians bull-pen continues to be inconsistent.

Joe Smith who used to come in to the game and send hitters right back to their dug-outs is now giving up hits and runs, he gave up 2 hits and 2 runs in the game and that is all it took for the Blue Jays to walk away with the win.

The Indians made it interesting in the 9th trying to mount a walk off win in front of the home crowd fans. The Tribe scored 2 runs in the 9th but fell short by a run to drop their 44th game of the season.

The Indians will face the Blue Jays again tonight to see who can take this series. Then it is the Kansas City Royals up next for the Tribe before the All-Star break.
