Masterson had an outing a bit closer to the Masterson Indians fans are use to seeing. Mastserson went for three innings and had four strikeouts when the Indians played the San Diego Padres on Saturday. Masterson threw 43 pitches, 27 of them were for strikes. He gave up four hits and one run in his three innings of work.

Masterson said the ball was going where he wanted it to go, that is a good sign for a pitcher of course. When Masterson was asked about his pitches he said, “We mixed in some change-ups and a couple sliders. The heater was pretty good placement. I was getting it down and away on four-seamers when we needed to and kind of mixing and matching. It was fun.”

Joe Smith didn’t have as much fun for the Indians, Smith gave up tow runs in the top of the fourth. Smith gave up three consecutive singles to James Darnell, John Baker and Will Venable . Lou Marson made an error that allowed one of the runs to score the Indians would lose to the Padres 5-2. Choo continues to show signs of power hitting another home run in yesterdays game.
