The Cleveland Indians gave pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez, a couple of extra days off. Jimenez has worked in the Bull-Pen to try to get his mechanics right. According to reports coming out of the Indians bull-pen, Jimenez is trying to correct his mechanics, in the bull-pen.
One of the problems that has caused Ubaldo problems, is his left foot is landing open on his delivery. It seems when his foot goes towards the plate he throws well, when he lands open, (foot towards 1st base line) he has problems.
If it were only that easy, the Indians have tried to figure out what Ubaldo’s problem has been since he came to Cleveland via the Rockies trade. Jimenez has had trouble with his mechanics, and no one has been able to pin point the problems until now.
Lets hope the team is right. If Jimenez can get his footing right and he can start to pitch the way we all think he can pitch, he would give the Indians another good starter in the rotation. Lets just hope if he gets into trouble, he doesn’t fall back into the habits that are giving him the trouble.
The Indians need this guy to do a great job this season. They need a good number 2 starter. Otherwise it is going to be a difficult season.
